Everyday is a Saturday!

Image
Life in Lockdown (day 10) - Ellie Barkley Being in quarantine has had it’s highs and lows. It has also felt very weird, like every day is a Saturday, because of getting up later and going to bed later than normal. My mum still wants us to keep a routine. So after breakfast I like to get all my school work done. This normally takes me up to lunch time. I am missing my friends but I do try keeping in touch with them by face-time.  I also like to keep myself busy:             ...by doing some baking. I’ve baked scones, ham and cheese slices, Easter nests and flapjacks. I really enjoy baking it helps take my mind off what’s happening in the world.              ...I used to do gymnastics at the leisure centre, so instead I go on face-time with my two friends and we do our routines together. I also love going for a cycle 2-3 times a week, it gets me some fresh air and is a nice way to clear my head. ...

Thank God for Friends!

Life in Lockdown (day 9) - Cara Tweed Life in lockdown has been ok.  I have been trying to fill my time as much as possible - mostly by baking, going in my trampoline and doing schoolwork (which is very boring may I add 😒 )  I have also been playing with my dogs - Tilly and Ernie. Here's a picture of Tilly 😃 One thing that i have been enjoying is mum and I redecorating my room! We spent most of last week painting my walls. It's looking great!  Other than that everything has been BORING! I didn't go into school on the last week, as i had a tummy bug - so i feel like i have been off school for such a long time!  My Friends have been keeping me sane though - I have been talking to my friend who lives beside me - we talk from our windows!  I have also been face-timing Isla a lot… that’s always a laugh.  Finally, I wanted to share with you a bible verse that's a good challenge for us all:  "But you, Timothy, ma...

I want my Ukulele!!

Life in lockdown (day 8) - Eloise McCormick Isolation hasn’t been too bad, even though I can’t see most of my friends I try to keep in touch with all of them and i have been trying to keep my self busy.  I have really enjoyed baking - I've made lots of different things like… ·          Honeycomb ·          Cinnamon rolls ·          Banana muffins ·          Mug cakes Around 2 weeks ago I just couldn’t stop thinking about a ukulele. So I asked my mum if I could order one online and she said yes. I couldn’t have been any more excited, and even better it was supposed to come on that following Thursday .....but it didn’t arrive and it still isn’t here!    Now, every time I hear the door - I think that it is here but it's normally just some post or something. I’m still waiting…. 😒 One thing i do ...

A bike ride and funky hot chocolate!

Lockdown (day 7) - Beth Brannigan So far in the Brannigan household, lockdown has been interesting to say the least. Everyone is running around doing stuff. For example mum has decided to start some intense spring cleaning and unfortunately that means we’re all involved! For the past week I’ve been doing all sorts of things, sleeping, doing school work, sleeping, gardening, sleeping, baking, lying on the floor… So I’ve decided to take up some hobbies in my spare time, for example I am currently challenging myself to do something creative each night, like a drawing or making something. My Sunday past started when someone woke me up at around 10:50. I went downstairs just in time to watch the church service and eat this really nice bread that my mum baked. Afterwards we watched my dad giving a pre-recorded sermon in a different church, we were so weirded out because he was sitting right next to us and he was also talking from the computer screen.   We had to turn it o...

Scones and Exercising!

Lockdown (day 6) - Jamie Reid Lockdown has mostly been fine although  my hair got really long and my mum had to cut it herself! 😮  ..... Every day we have tried to do something productive whether it’s been baking, trampolining or going on walks, etc. We were meant to be making cookies but my sister didn’t follow the instructions and we we're left with a puddle. On top of that, whilst making scones - we forgot to put in self raising flour, meaning we had to go the extra mile to make it work. At least I feel as if I’ve learnt a thing or two about baking.                                                                                                                        ...

Safe not stuck!

Lockdown (day 5) - Katie Reith This blog is going to be short and sweet! Lets get straight to it - Lockdown has been weird! I mean, it's had it's high points and low points, but all in all, i guess so far, its been OK.  I've been trying to fill my days - Mostly by video calling friends, doing some reading, putting on make up ;) and bouncing on my trampoline!  I've also been keeping up with my school work!! Well, most of the time.... except that day when i decided to throw myself a fashion show in my room when my mum thought i was working! (whoops! lets not tell her!) I've also discovered Joe wicks' work outs, which I've been doing every morning....oh and to top it off - I've been singing .....A LOT! Trying really hard to keep busy - but i have been complaining to my mum about being stuck at home... then she reminds me that i'm not STUCK at home - i'm SAFE at home! (Good reminder) I think we all need a little bit of courage right no...

Composition and Coffee!

Lockdown (day 4) ~ Rebekah Taylor Being in lockdown has already had its ups and downs but overall it has been ok. Every day I’ve been leaning new skills such an origami.   I can now make an origami butterfly - I have made loads in the past week.  My day began waking up early this morning and trying to be productive, but that backfired a wee bit because my mum was out and therefore, she wasn’t there to moan at me to get up and do school work! So I ended up spending the morning doing a music composition in my pyjamas. It wasn’t all that fun, and I think my family are sick of hearing the same piece. My mum has been making us meet in the morning for five minutes to share stuff that we're grateful for.   So far the things my family have been grateful for range from Lego and cheese, to sunny days, and not having Coronavirus!......I have a weird family! While I was doing my composition, my mum was out shopping from 8.30am to 10.30am. It took so long becaus...
