Over the rainbow!

Life in Lockdown - Aimee Montgomery (day 35) Being in lockdown has been interesting to say the least. I’ve been bored a lot and I’ve also spent a lot of time with my family. We even started a family game night every Sunday. I have also been keeping in touch with my friends over FaceTime and I’ve been on lots of walks with my family as well. It was actually my birthday on Friday and some of my friends came and visited me, but don’t worry we stayed 2 metres away!  I have also started baking a lot. We’ve been baking cornflake buns, cinnamon swirls, scones and brownies etc. I have been keeping up with my hobbies as I’ve been out my back garden and practising some hockey skills with my sister. I have also been running a lot as we have a treadmill and I’ve been doing the couch to 5k app. All of these things have kept me busy and kept my mind off the things that are going on in the world right now.   I feel it is important to keep your faith at this time so here is

Cookies and Podcasts

Life in Lockdown (day 16)  - Sarah Campbell Over lockdown I have been doing schoolwork, baking and mostly face-timeing my friends. (I really miss them!) I have also been exercising and playing a lot of sport when I can. I have been completing the Joe Wicks workout every morning and I have also been going on bike rides with my dad and walking my dog. These are some cookies I made with my sister. Over this time of being at home i have had the chance to come closer with God by reading my bible more, listening and sharing some of my favourite worship with my friends and i have even been listening to the Summer Madness podcasts (Word on the Go on Spotify) which have really helped me. God bless, Sarah.

Football and Facetime

Life in Lockdown (day 15) - Emma Taylor Hi everyone it’s Emma here.   Quarantine has been very boring for me from the start.  I love being outdoors and seeing my mates but this has all stopped.  I am really glad that I have been able to Facetime my friends and keep in contact with them on WhatsApp groups.  I’m very grateful for my back garden and have spent a lot of time out there.   My football team has set us up some challenges such as Maradona 7.   (Google it!) They have also made videos of us all doing "keepie uppies" then volleying it to the next person.   I’ve spent a lot of time practising my football skills which has kept me busy.   The only problem is that I keep kicking the ball into the neighbours’ gardens.   (So did my dad!)   It's ok when I have to call next door but when it goes over the hedge to the houses behind us, it involves a long walk to get my ball back! I have also enjoyed baking with my mum and it’s good to have some tast

Photography and Art

Life in lockdown (day 14) – Rebecca Campbell  I think that I have settled in better than I expected during the past two weeks, I have spent most of my time doing work for school and watching Netflix.  Although I think that I am very lucky because I live in the countryside and have the luxury of walking through the fields and up the country roads.  During my walks I have started taking photos for my silver Duke of Ed. I have really enjoyed being able to do some art and photography in this endless free time. Blessings, Rebecca

Chilled, and new things!

Life in Lockdown (day 13) - Calum Barkley So far, I haven’t minded being in quarantine. It’s been nice to just chill out, but recently I have started to feel a little more bored each day. I do try to keep a routine, somewhere along the lines of: ·        -  Waking up at 8.30/9.00 ·        -  Doing schoolwork until about lunchtime ·        -  Going for a run, on my bike or just any exercise I can do ·        -  Then just relaxing It’s been important to stay in touch with friends, and I loved the way we did the YF Zoom call on Friday. I can’t wait until we do more of those so I can win some more prizes. The pizza was lovely by the way! It is kind of sad to not be going to school, mostly because I can’t see all my friends that I’m used to seeing on a weekly basis. The last day felt like that scene from Doctor Who when David Tennant says, “I don’t wanna go” (look it up if you don’t understand). But it’s been nice to keep in touch with everyone online and it’ll be

Homework, Sleep, Repeat

Life in lockdown (day 12) - Cameron Reid To be honest, at the start of the lockdown i did not think it would be this boring! Its not all bad though as i do get to lie in until 9ish and don't have to walk to school. I also see more people out walking about. (which is ironic!) The way i spend most days is - getting up and doing homework for about 3-4 hours, walking the dog to get me out of the house, and talking / playing with my friends online.  Overall it has actually not been too bad.  Finally, a big thank you to all those in the NHS.  Stay safe, Cameron.

A curly bob and too much homework!!

Life in Lockdown (day 11) - Robin Graham Honestly...It's only been 2 weeks into quarantine and I've already descended into madness!! Not even a few days in and i nearly shaved my head bald, however i managed to stop myself before i got too far and now I've got this weird curly bob.  I've barely left my house all week. So my parents forced me to go for a walk in Ballyboley forest and around Ballynure.  My teachers have been sending me school work via email etc....and its been a nightmare! As soon as I've finished one thing, another one appears. Its horrible and stressful and i just want to go to sleep!  Other than that, I've had a pretty good week!
